Herning Horseshow 2018

Herning was again this year a massive event, but a bit different than usual for me. Atterupgaards Cassidy and I were contacted about a month ago, where we were told we had been chosen to receive the prestigious MCH’s Warmblood Award 2018.

In connection with receiving the price we were invited to the gallashow Saturday evening. It’s been many years since I last participated in the gallashow and there’s always a good atmosphere there. This year it was something incredibly special though. After a good warm-up Cassidy and I galloped out from the black curtains and into a packed BOXEN. The whole arena stood up and sent the biggest applause down towards Cassidy and me.

It gave me the biggest rush and a lump in my throat to see all these people celebrating us. We got to show off a bit, and Cassidy really seemed to enjoy it! Normally he isn’t too fond of award ceremonies and applause, but for some reason he really seemed to enjoy this in front of all the celebrating people.

After our little show we rode down towards the VIP lounge and received the amazing MCH Warmblood Award. An award that gives me the opportunity for even better training and planning going forward to the upcoming seasons and especially the Olympics in 2020.

After this we made another victory round for the fantastic audience. Standing, praising and clapping - wow, what an experience! It was one of those experiences that I’ll never forget - the support, happiness and desire to celebrate my little red racer and me; that’s unique and I’m so grateful for the support we feel from all of riding-Denmark!

THANK YOU to everyone who was there to make the day so amazing, thank you to MCH for the award, Casper Cassøe and the whole team for taking care of us, and last but not least to my amazing dad who drove Cassidy home to his own bed late Saturday night.
